"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life"
The famous Pablo Picasso quote, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life" is one of my favorites. Art is more than just a form of self expression, for me as a disabled artist it allows me to heal, to challenge me in the best ways and to connect to the world. I'm an introvert but when it comes to art I am so interested and more social, it sparks something in me and I just have to create.
Art is a crucial part of what makes us human, either as an admirer or a creator. It gives us a sense of community, connects us and allows us to feel seen. Art is not just paintings in a museum or gallery, it is in our daily life, it is music, it is performative, pottery, poetry, dance, drawings, gardening, paintings, and yes doodles or scribbles!
Art inspires, art heals, it is power, it is essential. The old quote, "the earth without art is just eh" is so true, life would be so dull without art. Sharing your art can be intimidating, but I assure you it is worth it. So please share your art, the world needs it!
